Phyllis Miller

Phyllis Gaye Houser Miller, 53, of Bessemer City, passed away on April 29, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. She was born December 26, 1960 in Gaston County to Benjamin Morey Houser of Cherryville and the late Madge Haynes Houser.

Phyllis was a member of Long Creek Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain. She received an associate's degree in Social Work from Gaston College after graduating from Bessemer City High School Class of 1979. She was employed by the Gaston County Tax Office. She enjoyed gardening, riding horses and motorcycles, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her father, Phyllis is survived by her husband, Timothy Scott Miller; daughters, Rachel Sue Miller of Charlotte, Dana Brook Miller of Asheville; brother, David Benjamin Houser of Cherryville.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Lynn Houser.

Her funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday at Long Creek Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain with Rev. Steven Wright and Richard Holmes officiating.

Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 PM Friday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
