Purvis "Pete" Alonzo Hoyle, 69, of Bessemer City, passed away on October 2, 2015, at home. He was born September 30, 1946 in Gaston County to the late William Franklin and Thelma Inez Smith Hoyle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Patrick Hoyle (Ann), his sister, Phyllis Ann Hoyle; nephews: Toby Bradshaw, Bill Hoyle, and Rick Hoyle; his niece, Juanita Hoyle.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Hoyle Staten (Jerry) of Lexington, NC, Lorie Hoyle Loomis (Mike) of Welcome, NC; his sisters, Paula Hoyle Brown and Peggy Hoyle Kiser both of Bessemer City; grandchildren; Eric Berry (Christina), Samantha Hoyle, Justin Latham; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Scott, Alexis Jennings, Darby Berry, Gracie Hoyle; nieces, Donna Brown, Benita Robinson, Ava Coleman, Patricia Mason, Belinda McCarthy; nephews, Douglas Kiser, Brett Kiser, Tony Bradshaw, Tommy Bradshaw, Mac Hoyle; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Purvis' funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the New Beginnings Church of God, formerly Bethea United Methodist Church, 605 E. Maryland Avenue Bessemer City, NC with the Rev. Marsha Joyner officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45am prior to the service at the church.
Interment will follow in the Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with a releasing of the doves ceremony.
