Rachel Lackey

Rachel Hudspeth Lackey, 78, of Gastonia, passed away Monday December 3, 2018, at Robin Johnson House. She was born on September 18, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Wiley Ellis and Eunice Lenore Hoffman Hudspeth.

Rachel loved and enjoyed shopping with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Jimmy Larry Lackey.

She is survived by her sister, JoAnne Alexander of Mt. Holly; brother Robert Hudspeth and wife Dot of Lincolnton; sister-in-law Freida Scroggs and husband Bill of Charlotte. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. John Harper officiating.

Rachel's family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 pm prior to her service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Jim.
