Rev. William Kermit Westbrook, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was born October 11, 1940 in Gaston County, son of the late Jones and Ruth Smith Westbrook.
Rev. Westbrook was a pastor, teacher, and author. He dedicated his life to be a minister of the gospel. He was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Bible College. Rev. Westbrook was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51years Patsy Kirkland Westbrook, son William Scott Westbrook and wife Lisa of Palm Coast, Fl.; daughter Cathy Marie Driggers and husband Mark of Lake Helen, Fl; sisters, Alice Crabtree and husband Frank of Pittsboro, NC, Rebecca Suggs and husband Bill of Gastonia, Sherry Hamrick of Kings Mountain; grandchildren Tori Scott and husband Kyle, Ashlee Kay and husband Andrew, Sarah Westbrook, Ashlynn Westbrook; great-grandchildren Hunter Granados, Thrasher Kay, Xander Kay, Nora Kay.
A Celebration of Rev. Westbrook life will be held at 4pm Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Restoring Hope Four Square Church, Dallas with Pastor Cameron Bryson and Rev. Fred Morrison officiating and full military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
Interment will be Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Veterans National Cemetery, Salisbury.
His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the church.
