Rev. John Gilreath, 77, went home to be with the Lord at home on Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born May 28, 1943 in Gaston County to the late Billy and Maggie Gilreath.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Bell Wooten Gilreath; sons, Jerry and John Gilreath; granddaughter Amber Ashley Adams; siblings, Jim, Loretta, Blain and Jan Gilreath.
John was an evangelist and pastor of Narrow Way Holiness Church, Dallas for over 35 years along with many years of missionary work.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Billy Gilreath and wife Becky; daughter, Teresa Gilreath and husband Robert Darby; grandchildren, Crystal Guffey, McKenzie Gilreath, Aaron Adams; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Daniel, Dillon, Emily, Gracie, Kacie, Dameon, Lily, Jane and David
He will lie in state from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
John’s funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Pastors Jeff Silvers, Harry Davis and Kevin Summey officiating.
Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
