Rhonda Elizabeth Poole, 73, of Gastonia, passed away at Caromont Regional on May 15, 2024. She was born June 9, 1950, in Gaston County, to the late William Elmore Sexton and Bertha Eileen Hembree Sexton.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Nash and sister, Daphne Caldwell.
Rhonda was a member of City Church in Gastonia. She was an RN who worked at Home Instead, Caromont Regional Medical Center, and Carolina Mills. She taught health at Highland School of Technology. She went on 9 medical mission trips to Jamaica, Ukraine, and Brazil. Rhonda was a talented organist for her church where she played for 25 years. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who know her.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 55 years, Terry Dean Poole; daughters, Tracy Bankhead (Donnie); Shannon Brown (Josh); brother, David Sexton (Cathy); sister, Nancy Sneed (Ronnie); grandchildren, Devin Brown, Jarred Brown, Jacob Bankhead, and Hailee Bankhead
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at City Church, Gastonia on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
Rhonda’s Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dickie Spargo officiating.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 384, Gastonia, NC 28054.
