Richard “Ricky” Andrew Helms, Sr., 69, of Bessemer City, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on January 29, 2022. He was born March 14, 1952, in Gaston County, to the late Winfred Andrew and Ruby Mae Isenhour Helms.
He is preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Ricky enjoyed watching wrestling, going fishing and spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Donna Helms; children, Rebecca Helms, Richard Andrew Helms, Jr., and Karen Cochrane (Shane); grandchildren, Jacob Cochrane, Justin Helms, Alex Cochrane, Kaylynn Helms, and Madison Helms.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Sisk Butler Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Danny Shortridge officiating.
