Rita Morgan

Rita Ilene Bridges Morgan, 75, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2018, at her residence. She was born on January 13, 1943 and the daughter of the late William (Taft) Howard Hughes and Margaret Louise Barker Hutchins.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandson Travis Jay Morgan; brother Austin Eugene Bridges; daughters Cynthia Morgan Vandyke, Donna Morgan Good; sister Shirley Strout.

She is survived by her son Tim Morgan and wife Alyssa of Dallas; daughter Debbie Morgan of Blythewood, SC; brother Jimmy Hutchins of Gastonia; half-sister Alice Tarleton of Warrenville, SC; grandchildren Daniel and wife Jackie, David, Johnathan, Chris, Cindy and husband Zach, Jamie, Greg, Kelly; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Kathy Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
