Robert Berry

Robert “Dave” David Berry, 87, passed away at Peak Resources - Cherryville on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was born January 18, 1934 in Mecklenburg County to the late John Frank Berry, Sr. and Viola Wilson Berry.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Joan Penner Berry; his sons Mark Berry and Danny Berry.

Dave was a lifelong member of Long Creek Presbyterian Church, he owned Berry’s Container Service until 2010. He also landscaped and worked for Foote Mineral for 17 years.

He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Left to cherish his memories is his son David Berry, Jr., and wife Cheryl; grandchildren Christina Thomas (Kris), Rebecca Philbeck (William), Jonathan Berry (Liz), Michael Berry, Matthew Berry, Heather Propst (Landon), Katie Mitchem (Kyle); great-grandchildren Emily Duncan (Andy), Alexander, Zach, Maksim and Charlotte Thomas, Charlie Philbeck, Gwyneth Berry; and his fur baby Harley.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Long Creek Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

Dave’s funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Long Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jason Davenport officiating.

Interment will follow at Long Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
