Robert Clouse

Robert Eugene Clouse, 83, of Carolina Care, Cherryville passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on Saturday, January 9, 2021. He was born April 29, 1937 to the late Guy and Valeria Davis Clouse.

Robert was a member of First Baptist Church, Bessemer City, and he was retired from Carolina Freight, Cherryville. He formerly worked at Southern Motor Lines and New Hope Charters. Robert was active in the Gaston County Jail Ministry and a mentor with the Gaston County Schools at Tryon Elementary and Bessemer City Primary.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Potts.

Left to cherish his memories are wife of 52 years, Norma Jean Clouse; daughter, Kathy Bumgardner (Steve) of Bessemer City; grandsons, Christopher Bumgardner of Bessemer City and , David Bumgardner of Raleigh; siblings, Coleen Ledford, Milburn Clouse, Delbert Clouse, and Donnie Clouse all of Franklin and Donnette Carnes of Whittier; numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert will lie in state from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Mr. Clouse’s funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Cherryville with Pastors Dale Hendricks and Olin Byrum III officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salvation Army Food Ministry, American Red Cross, First Baptist Church, Bessemer City and Shady Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
