Sarah Shomate

Sarah Kester Shomate of Gastonia passed away on March 15, 2014 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas. She was born December 21, 1928 in Gaston County to the late Franklin and Katherine Kester.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marshall Shomate, Sisters Rita Evitt and Ann Norton.

Sarah was a member of Lowell Presbyterian Church and the Loraine Chapter 169 Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Michael Shomate and daughter-in-law Suzanne Shomate of Gastonia and granddaughter Suzanne Shomate of Tampa Florida.

Sarah's funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lowell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bryan Hovey officiating.

Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

Her family will receive friends at 2:00 PM before the service at Lowell Presbyterian Church activity center.
