Steve Hayes

Steve Edward Hayes 68, of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1947 in Gaston county to the late Julius and Mable Dover Hayes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Vanessa Hayes; brothers, Ned Hayes and Gaither Hayes.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sherry Hayes; his sons, Bubba Blanton and wife Kasie, Nicholas Hayes and wife Jasmine, Steven Hayes; his daughter, Windy Mejia ; special granddaughter, Kayla Horne; sister, Evelyn Chavis; brother, Keith Hayes.

Steve was a retired Fire Fighter and was awarded the Fireman of the year in 1989. He also enjoyed dirt track racing and loved playing gospel music.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday December 15, 2015 at Harvest Time Assembly, KM

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the church, with Pastor Sheila Grigg and Pastor Stony Yearwood officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
