Thomas Meeks

Thomas R. Meeks Jr. 72, of Gastonia went to be with the Lord on Monday January 25, 2016 at home. He was born October 30, 1943 in Gaston County, to the late Thomas R. Sr. and Catherine Maier Meeks.
Thomas was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Army. He was also a member of the Bessemer City American Legion Post 243 and the United Vietnam Veterans. Tommy was retired from Reliance Electric. He was also a member of the Ragan Wesleyan Church.
He is preceded by his loving wife of 37 years, Sabel Pruitt Meeks; sister, Gloria Wanda Meeks.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Thomas Dale Meeks and wife Michelle of Charlotte, Roger Dale Cook, Jr. and wife Jodie of Bessemer City; daughters, Mary Louise Meeks Turner of Gastonia, Kelly Melissa Cook Franklin and husband Jo-D of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Thor and wife Kayla, Hillary, Jordan, Bailey, Jacob, Gabby and Alex.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Diane Asbury and Toni Page for the care that was given to Tommy.
His family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
Thomas' funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Dick Whitener officiating.
Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia with Military Honors given by the Bessemer City American Legion Post 243.
