Tressie May

Tressie Louise May, age 71, passed away on Thursday June 8, 2017, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. She was born on June 14, 1945 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to the late James Martin and Celia Beatrice Duvall May.

Louise was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susan Mary-Frances Weldon; her siblings; Christine, Roger, Melissa Gail, Darlene, James Robert, Terrel; grandchildren, Jonathan Scruggs and Sapphire Ann Weldon; and "that James Weldon".

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Barbara Scruggs and husband Earl of Lattimore, Steve Weldon and wife Jessie of Lowell, Teresa Vite and husband Elias of Nebo; her twin sister, Mary Lucille Bryant of Andrews, NC, Pauline Coffee of Valdese, Linda Nelson and husband Jimmy of Grover; grandchildren, Justin, Valerie, Joseph, Isaiah, Emma, Jesse James, Kayla, Joshua, Abigail, Triniti; great-grandchildren; Zeppeline and Melody

Her funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, June14, 2017 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. Ray Priest officiating.

Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest in the Aquone Cemetery at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017. Aquone Cemetery is located at 19036 Wayah Rd. Topton, NC 28781.
