Vennie Harris

Vennie Estelle Harris, 89, of Gastonia, passed away on Friday October 30, 2015 at Caromont Regional Medical Center of Gastonia. She was born on October 30, 1926 in Gaston County, to the late Willard and May White Welch.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Roosevelt Harris; brothers, Thurman Welch and Bill Welch.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her daughter, Marlene Harris of Gastonia; her sons, Marshall P. Harris and wife Patsy of Dallas, NC, and Bryan Harris of Gastonia. Mrs. Harris is also survived by 4 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Vennie was retired from the textile industry.

The Harris family would to thank Doctor Villarreal and his staff along with Caromont Regional Medical Center for the kind and professional care that was given to their mother.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Bob Holtsclaw officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia, NC.
