Virginia Griggs

Concord, North Carolina

Virginia Gulledge Griggs, 75, of Concord, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 15, 1940 in Wadesboro, NC and later moved to Cabarrus County, and was daughter to the late Alfred Gulledge and Virginia Mae McQuage Gulledge Tarleton.

She was employed by Cannon Mills, Value Village and retired from JC Penny. She loved her family, friends and dog Baby girl very much. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and special friend She loved helping others.

Virginia was survived by her children Linda Bare (Billy) of Jefferson, NC, Judy Hildreth (Jasper) of Wadesboro, NC, Bruce High (Samantha) of Concord, and William High (Sharon) of Mt. Pleasant, NC;18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers William Gulledge (Mary Jo) of Kannapolis, NC, Stevie Tarleton (Pam) of Wadesboro, and Tinker Tarleton of Rockingham, NC; sister-in-law Mather Gulledge of Wadesboro, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Griggs, children Rosie and John High, brothers Buddy Gulledge and Danny Tarleton, step father Robert Tarleton; great-grandson Colton Ray High

A home going service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 :00 pm Friday, February 26, 2016 at Northwest Baptist Church, Concord with Rev. John Lindsay officiating.

Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00 pm Friday, February 26, 2016 at the church.
