Walter Beaver

Walter James Beaver, 85, passed away April 17, 2013, at home. He was born on January 14, 1928 in Murphy, NC, to the late Alfred James and Rhoda Harris Beaver.

He liked Sherlock Holmes, Perry Mason, and John Wayne. The family would like to say "thank you" to the nurses and staff of Gaston Hospice for all of their concern and care of Mr. Beaver during his illness.

Walt is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law; Larry and Betty Beaver, Steven and Ruth Beaver all of Gastonia, Barry and Phyllis Beaver of Shelby, sister-in law, Sylvia Beaver of Blacksburg, SC; grandsons and wives, Tracy and Argerie Beaver, Chris and Christy Beaver; granddaughter Stephanie Ann Gardner great-grandchildren, Karson, Karmen, and Vincent Beaver, Sophie, Sadie, and Sydni Beaver,.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Geraldine Goins Beaver, his son Dennis Beaver, his brothers Emory Beaver, Stanley Beaver, Poley Beaver, Lonnie Beaver, sisters; Rita Rowland, Delie Buchanan, Lela Cobb, and Georgia Lou Buchanan.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City, with Rev. Norman Greene and Rev. Earl Mincy officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
