William Mcginnis

William C. "Bill" McGinnis, 65, went home to be with our Lord on May 31, 2013, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 26, 1947, to Edith Parks McGinnis and the late William C. McGinnis Sr. in Gastonia.

Bill graduated from Ashley High School in 1965 and then served two years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was retired from Cognis/BASF Corporation in Charlotte.

He was preceded in death by his father and younger brother, Richard.

In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Joyce; two sons, Chris and his wife, Elizabeth of Stanley and Michael and his wife, Melissa of Dallas; three cherished grandsons, Josh, Forrest, and Hunter; and a sister, Carol Swanson of Gastonia.

A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday with visitation one hour prior to the service at Fraley Memorial Baptist Church in Ranlo, with the Revs. Warner Doles and Charles Keller officiating.
