ROB  NEAL



By the grace of God, William Robert "Rob" Neal, 82, was called to his heavenly home on August 3, 2012, while at Kings Mountain Hospice House in Kings Mountain.  He was born December 29, 1929, in Gaston County, to the late William McKinley Neill and Essie Childers Neill.

Rob was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.  He was retired from Carolina

Freight and was formerly employed with Longs Sheet Metal in Cherryville.  The family would like to extend gratitude and appreciation for the personal and professional care and love given to Rob by Dr. Potts, nurses, and staff at Kings Mountain Hospice House.



Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 6:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Cherryville, with Rev. Tim Robbins and Rev. Keith Hollar officiating.

His body will lie in state from 5:15-6:00 PM.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Rob's Celebration of Life Reception will be held from 7:15-9:00 PM in the church Family Life Center.



He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen Bridges Neal; daughters, Sherry Reynolds and husband Gary of  Bessemer City, Robbie Lovelace and husband Danny of Cherryville, Gina Sosebee of Dallas; brother, Dennis Neill and wife Janie of Cherryville; sisters, Bertha Lee of Shelby, Christine Sellers of Cherryville; grandchildren, Sidney Reynolds and wife Candy, Haley Reynolds Lewis and husband Michael, Jessica Taylor, Zachary Lovelace, Alison Christopher, Isaac Sosebee, Caleb Sosebee; great-grandchildren, Kylie Reynolds, Brooke McAbee, Ashley McAbee, Kaleigh Lewis, Kaden Lewis, and Zoey Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Neill; sisters, Dorothy Lingerfelt, Bettie Whitlow, and Marie Dover.



Memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd, Kings Mountain, NC  28086;  or Shady Grove Baptist Church, 3240 Tryon Courthouse Road, Cherryville, NC  28021; or to the donor's choice.
