Bessemer City, North Carolina

Yvonne Hannah Blackwood, 80, went to her heavenly home to meet Jesus and be reunited with her family and friends on August 19, 2017. She was born on July 31, 1937 in Gaston County, to the late Wenzlo Donald and Pearlee Weaver Hannah.

Yvonne was a member of Reagan Wesleyan Church. She was a loving and caring woman to her family and the people that surrounded her. Yvonne was loved by her nieces, nephews, step kids, and step grand kids, she will be missed by all. She loved to have fun, to travel, was an avid bowler and loved spending time with her church family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands Vernon Green, Harry Poteat and John Blackwood. Her brothers Grady and Donald Hannah, and sister Betty Lou Mitchem.

Left to cherish her memory is her brothers Verlin Hannah and wife Jane of Murphy, NC, Jerry Hannah and wife Faye of Hollywood, FL, and David Hannah and wife Diane of Dallas; sister Janice Hannah Arrowood and husband Danny of Sumter, SC.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Pastor John Harper officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ragan Wesleyan Church 535 Oates Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052
